Our services

Koi Ponds

Koi ponds are a specialist build and often require a complex concrete base with built in bottom drains. Large Koi ponds are often constructed from concrete blocks rendered. Reliable pumps and quality filter systems are essential to ensure the overall health of the ecosystem.

Reed Bed Filtration

Reed Beds do not need to be a monoculture of reeds! Almost any plant that lives with its roots in water has the capability to transport oxygen down to its roots.  We use reeds called phragmites which encourages bacteria that will digest the nitrates and phosphates therefore starving algae of nutrients.

Hard Landscaping

In addition to our traditional building expertise and flair for rock and water creations, we are also able to accommodate all aspects of more modern landscaping. We believe that quality is all-important, and as such specify high quality materials throughout all of our designs.

Design

Including site visit and initial consultation regarding position & size of venture.  We offer a complete appraisal service whether you have an existing pond that requires an overhaul, a lake that needs taming, a desire for an unused section of the garden to be inspiring and useable or just a one off maintenance.

Tree Surgery

In addition to our pond design and construction we also carry out tree work from site clearance, felling and pruning.  Please note that no tree work will be carried out unless it has been verified with local councils that there are no tree preservation orders, tres are not in a conservation area etc. Applications can be made on your behalf should this be necessary before any work commences.

Streams

Can link one area of a garden to another or alternatively can create a natural barrier dividing the garden into separate areas, they can also be incorporated into ponds and waterfalls.  Bridges and jettys can also be incorporated to add interest, focal points and obviously as a means to cross the stream.  Streams can be straight, meandering, shallow, deep whatever you like can be incorporated.

Dear Harry and Gary 
We just wanted to let you know that our pond is doing well - we think. All the fish we put in just after Gary finished are still alive and at least twice the size they were when they went in. The plants are all doing well, and the pond looks like it belongs just where it is. Our garden is transformed. Greg ended up building the bridge and, like you suggested, at the end of the bridge and through the arch, we put a beautiful swing chair from which we can admire the pond from the other side. All very very lovely.
